In 2022, Lake made a significant political move by running as the Republican Party nominee in Arizona’s gubernatorial election. Although she narrowly lost to Democratic candidate Katie Hobbs, she refused to concede. Her campaign was marked by several controversies, including promoting false claims about Trump’s 2020 presidential election victory and advocating for the imprisonment of those who accepted the election results, including Hobbs.

Undeterred by her loss in the gubernatorial race, Lake continued her political journey and announced her candidacy for the 2024 United States Senate election in Arizona. In July 2024, she secured the Republican nomination but ultimately lost the general election to Ruben Gallego.

On December 11, 2024, President-elect Trump announced that Lake would be appointed as the next director of Voice of America.

Walker, born in 1962, is an American politician and former professional football running back who had a 12-season stint in the National Football League (NFL).

Walker’s college football career at the University of Georgia was remarkable. He won the prestigious Heisman Trophy as a junior, solidifying his status as a college football icon. After college, he embarked on a professional football career, spending the initial three seasons with the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL).

Oz, also known as Dr. Oz, was born in 1960. He’s an American politician, television presenter, physician, author, professor emeritus of cardiothoracic surgery at Columbia University, and a former political candidate.

Oz, a Turkish immigrant’s son, grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. He graduated from Harvard and Penn. As a dual citizen, he served 60 mandatory military days in the Turkish Army in the 1980s. He began residency in surgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in 1986 and became a professor in 2001, retiring in 2018. However, Columbia University severed ties with Oz in May 2022 and removed him from their website.

In 2003, Oprah Winfrey made Oz the first guest on the Discovery Channel series Second Opinion with Dr. Oz. He became a regular guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, making over sixty appearances. In 2009, Winfrey’s Harpo Productions and Sony Pictures Television launched The Dr. Oz Show, a daily television program about medical matters and health that ran for 13 seasons.

However, Oz’s promotion of pseudoscience, particularly in the areas of alternative medicine, faith healing, and various paranormal beliefs, has garnered criticism from several medical publications and physicians.

Kennedy’s educational journey took him to Harvard University and the University of Virginia School of Law, where he honed his legal skills. After graduating, he embarked on a career as an assistant district attorney in New York City.

In the mid-1980s, Kennedy joined Riverkeeper and the NRDC, championing legal battles against polluters and contributing to environmental conservation. In 1999, he founded the Waterkeeper Alliance, dedicated to water resource protection, and served as its president until 2020.

In 2024, Kennedy made a notable political move by announcing his candidacy as an independent candidate for the United States presidential election. His campaign aimed to address pressing environmental issues and promote a more sustainable future for the nation.

Since 2005, Kennedy has been actively promoting vaccine misinformation and public-health conspiracy theories, notably the scientifically disproven claim linking vaccines to autism. Kennedy serves as the chairman and founder of Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine advocacy group that also spreads COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.

Gabbard, born in 1981, is a U.S. Army Reserve lieutenant colonel. Her political career spans 2013-2021, during which she served as Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district Representative. Before that, she made history as Hawaii’s youngest state legislator (2002-2004). In 2020, she ran in the Democratic presidential primaries but left the party in 2022 and joined the Republican Party in 2024.

Gabbard’s military service began in 2003 with the Hawaii Army National Guard. Her deployment to Iraq (2004-2005) saw her serve as a medical specialist, earning the Combat Medical Badge. In 2007, she completed officer training at the Alabama Military Academy. From 2008-2009, she served as an Army Military Police platoon leader in Kuwait.

During her tenure in Congress, Gabbard gained recognition for opposing Islamic terrorism in the Middle East and U.S. military intervention in Syria. She criticized the Obama administration for not acknowledging Islamic extremism as a significant issue. In 2017, she met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. In 2019, she asserted that Assad wasn’t the U.S. enemy because Syria didn’t pose a direct threat. However, she later clarified that Assad was a brutal dictator.

She endorsed Bernie Sanders for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination. In 2020, Gabbard launched her own presidential campaign but ultimately dropped out and endorsed Joe Biden.

After leaving Congress in 2021, she adopted more conservative positions on various issues, including abortion, foreign policy, LGBTQ rights, and border security.

In August 2024, Gabbard endorsed former President Donald Trump for the 2024 United States presidential election. Later that year, in November 2024, Trump announced his intention to nominate Gabbard as the director of national intelligence.
